LONDON 2024
After a whirlwind trip, I’m finally sitting down to jot down some highlights from my trip to London. Keep scrolling to read my highlights and to check out all the photos from our adventure—they’re a bit out of order, but each one captures the fun, flavor, and spontaneity of our time in London!
🚕 A Flying Taxi?!
First up, let’s talk about Jacob’s work because WOW—this guy is incredible. Imagine having to build an experiential marketing activation that's a flying taxi for UAE.... yes, really! Watching him in action was beyond cool. I don’t know what was more mind-blowing, the build or the fact I get to call this genius dude mine.
☕ Afternoon Tea
Massive thanks to Bronte for the rec—Afternoon Tea at The Drawing Room was spot-on. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to eat tiny sandwiches and sip tea in a place that feels straight out of a magazine this was it. (Plus they had an entire plant-based menu for me!)
🍽️ Food Finds & Vegan Bites
London’s food scene? Pretty great! From vegan fish & chips (I actually found some!) to melt-in-your-mouth Indian food to cozy restaurants we stumbled upon, my tummy was very happy. London has fantastic food and IDGAF if you disagree! 😜
🛍️ Markets, Museums, & Some Retail Therapy
We really popped off with Borough Market and Spitalfields Market, soaking up the mix of foods, crafts, and Londoners hustling about. Shopping in SoHo and Mayfair felt like a spree in style central. Also squeezed in some museum stops at White Cube and Tate Modern—the mix of old-meets-new vibes was everything.
🌉 Strolling Shoreditch & Bermondsey
London’s streets have such an energy to them, especially in Shoreditch and Bermondsey (the neighborhoods we called home). From the hidden spots to cute pubs & cafes to great shops, it was overall fun vibes—it’s where London’s grit and charm come together, and it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
🍻 Queer Pub & Punchdrunk
One night, we met up with one of Jacob’s friends (hi Lukas!) at a cozy queer pub, and it was a blast! There’s something special about sharing a pint in a place filled with customer drawings of genitalia (yes, really! HAHA). Also, we caught Punchdrunk’s “Viola’s Room.” It’s a trip, but in the best way possible—immersive theater that leaves you reeling (in the best way).
🌿 A “Beating” I Didn’t See Coming
So, picture this: we walked into Banya No. 1, thinking it was a standard “relax and unwind” spa day. Little did we know, we were about to get smacked with leaves. Yes, actual bundles of leaves. It turns out, in the name of rejuvenation, they roast you in the steam room until you feel like a human dumpling, then proceed to whack you with oak branches. I have to admit, between the intense heat and the leaf beatdown, I somehow left feeling like a new person—slightly cooked, very exfoliated, and thoroughly entertained. And as a bonus any inner demons I had... were definitely expelled!
❤️ Making Memories
At the end of it all, my favorite part was exploring a new city with Jacob by my side. Having him there to share it all made everything a bit brighter, a bit funnier, and a whole lot more meaningful.
And if you’re thinking about London, trust me—it’s worth every cobblestoned street and every cup of tea. ☕
